Re: Questions/Comments

Hello again. After a long-ish break I return with more questions: 1) Is there a way to utilize resources of planets/moons with "Death" enviroment, or are all those rich/very rich ice planets and moon just there to taunt players for all eternity? Not currently. There have been a ...

Re: L4.10.3 Round Trip Shipments

I do the math as speed 4 CFN means a 5 StMP donut run would cost 1.25 times the cost of a 4 StMP donut run ... No discount if you only use 2StMP that month so a 6 StMP run would cost significantly more than a 5StMP run since you pay full cost for all the StMP. For the sake of simplicity I think it ...

Re: Is it worth giving survey ships a shield?

Don't forget that stellar damage is (<star_radius>*2) - (<distance_to_star_center> - 1) damage . For a Red Dwarf, that is (2*2) - (<distance> - 1), for Blue Giants it would be (60*2) - (<distance> -1). Since coronal WPs are d100 tH from the star, things can get deadly quite ...

Re: Is it worth giving survey ships a shield?

Depending on SL, of course, wouldn't you want a probe ship to have some form of Yc or at least Y? It seems that going only with innate sensors means that the poor probe ship is almost entirely blind as a bat. I'd think that a probe ship would prefer to see any potential unknowns at as great a dista...

Re: L4.10.3 Round Trip Shipments

Easy. I ship something that's 5 StMP. I pay for normal usage for the first month, which gets my precious shipment of doughnuts 4 systems over. Then, for the last month, I only pay half the cost, because the freighter can then do its normal back and forth thing, doing two 1-StMP round trips on the l...

Set your sasers to stun

Yes, I said saser, not phaser, although some folk want to call them phasers, they are are really Sound Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. http://www.nature.com/news/2010/100226/full/news.2010.92.html http://www.rexresearch.com/kentsaser/kentsaser.htm http://www.physorg.com/news203058...
