Re: Infrastructure Units (the new IU)

All of that abstracted and is presumed by the presence of those facilities. It has been repeatedly said that nobody wants to play "accounting-fire" Well we are playing accounting-fire to some degree, I have a spreadsheet or two to prove it :geek: But that doesn't mean we need to add anyth...

Re: Infrastructure Units (the new IU)

Anything that adds yet another ounce of rules to a pound heavy system, hurts me and my ability to get more folk in MY area to play the game with me. Any rules that are added at this time needs to have a definite BIG upside or they make a spreadsheet-driven game that much more in need of a new couple...

Re: Maintenance of survey fleets?

The maint. receiving happens during the Economic Phase, so your vessels have maint. for the turn they move into a new system. If you find nothing that would prevent the CFN from going into that new system (Hostiles or other dangers like Mazer Nebula), the next turn the CFN will work out thru to that...

Re: Nerfing Squadrons to reasonable levels

I won't say much on stuff I haven't done a lot with, except to say that 'BASV' is a pain. I've hated it since it's inception. I understand that I may be in the minority and I understand (sort of) why it was implemented, but it just hurts my brain. If it could be simplified or Go back to old way of d...

Re: Zazzle product poll: laptop and iPad sleeves

The only laptop I have is a 17 inch one, wife got me a great holder 2 Christmases ago so getting a sleeve isn't needed. Oh yeah, later that Christmas season, my son was using it and the embedded video card overheated and went out. Now I have an nice anchor with a nice case. The warranty expired 2 mo...

Re: Who's here?

Well, you can always think of me as a "potential friend/enemy Player that has behaved nicely since we bumped into each other" I do , but my empire doesn't know that you run by a human vs being run by the rules & GM fiat. I know that your empire is able to do things without rolls but m...

Re: Who's here?

I survived the surgery - moving real slow. My surgery went from a triple bypass to a pre-op decision to only do a double, and then while in surgery the cardiac surgeon decided to do a quadruple bypass. The level of difficulty went up but I got a better score from the Russian judges. They are all tel...

Re: Who's here?

Hello to all the newer people who have joined the Forum in the last few months. Don't be afraid to ask questions. On the personal side - on Tuesday I will be having a triple-bypass surgery. I am making plans to be able to get my turns done while recovering from this pretty serious procedure. So in l...

Re: Year One summary

Maybe Lomn will do a Turn 25 summary. But I'm just thankful to have a GM running this thing. Best fun I've had in years (gaming-wise).

Favorite book (So far) of 2015

For those of you out there that still read books, my favorite book I've read this year was 'The Martian' by Andy Weir. It has been out for a few years but really gained an audience at the beginning of this year. It has been in the top 20 bestsellers for most of the year and deservedly so. Great paci...
