Re: Is Maintenance Too High?

Research costs are also too high, a full turns worth worth of EL research costs 100 MCr + 20% of TGI, multiply that by 10 and well, yeah. Of course there's problems with that to: TGI is calculated after modifiers for REI, Governor and anything else, like EVB, which probably shouldn't be included (At...

Is Maintenance Too High?

OK, I've been pushing some decompression thoughts around and I've realized something: Maintenance, as a percentage of ship cost, is way too high. It's okay when you apply fuzzy economics to make the game run faster and be more enjoyable, but once you scale back population based income things get rea...

Re: Z Datagroup Sizes

Cralis, a single D system can only shoot down one missile per Salvo, but otherwise it can destroy an unlimited number of missiles a turn, that says that missiles in a Salvo are grouped together in some way.

Trilateral and Multilateral Treaties

OK, this only just occurred to me, but the treaties in Starfire are all bilateral only, you can't back trilateral or multilateral one's like you see in the books. How hard would it be to implement them?

Re: Z Datagroup Sizes

Yes, that's my point, my understanding is that all missiles in a single volley arrive at the same time, so clearly the launching ship must be doing ToT calculations.

Re: Z Datagroup Sizes

Cralis, given how salvo's work I think we have to assume that units perform TOT calculations 'for free' instanantously

Re: Shield Generator

That's interesting procyon, because I found this in the Shield rules: "Shields are the left-most system on the Ship Control Sheet, but do not have a discrete internal system as the generators and projectors are mounted through-out the ship."

Shield Generator

OK L1.05.2 reads: Shields are not “destroyed” when they are knocked out. Accordingly, a unit loses no personnel points from “damage” to shields unless the shield generator itself is destroyed." which suggests to me that there is, or is supposed to be, an actual shield generator systems record o...

Re: Z Datagroup Sizes

No, the HS limitation makes sense as Data Group size is more going to be limited by systems on ships that a linked. Realistically a FT[4] mounting only a single Dz put into a group for better protection is not going to tie up as much bandwidth and computational resources as a proper missile destroye...
