Solar Starfire v6.01.201207 is Released

Postby Cralis on Wed 01 Aug 2012 01:59

Daz came through and built the final revision of the SOLAR STARFIRE v6.01 PDF!

Tomorrow, August 1st, emails can be sent to orders@starfiredesign.com by anyone who owns SSF 6.00, and after verifying your ownership, we'll email a download link for the new version. Tomorrow night we'll be adding new SSF and Ultimate CDs with the new rules and new add-on materials in the download sections.

Remember, we (the SDS) still have day jobs, so don't expect the return links until near evening Pacific Time.

So what changed? Mostly typos and revisions of material that was incomplete in the original version. Some of the most important changes are:

  • The addition of "mod", "add", and "del" markers in the margin to let you know where we've modified, added, or deleted material when compared against the original version (6.00)
  • An entirely new section C11 that covers LEL drives and movement, combined with revamped AA.Cp rules
  • Rewritten F3 and F4 to split crew/personnel rules and crew grade rules
  • Modified how initiative works
  • Remove H as a requirement for units, instead units can automatically carry 1 month's worth of maintenance
  • Allow G as a beginning SRW in Section K
  • Starting an LEL player empire rules
  • Added N15 in preparation for future work
  • Changes to U3 for capturing R&D facilities, making them worth capture
  • Added the first "mission" for Qt (other than invasion): destroying silos.
  • Clarification on the whole Qtc/Qtr thing. Plus many smaller changes to Section V.
  • Changes to WP linking, plus unconventional WPs. The first part of a future expansion to make WPs still hard to find .
  • Reorganized and revamped J'Rill rules
  • Moved Gt to SL20
  • Changes to detecting cloaked enemies, and enemies beyond normal sensor range
  • New ROR table in CC1
  • Bases go to EL50
  • Many smaller changes across the board...

FYI,

We are getting new masters done of the SOLAR STARFIRE and ULTIMATE STARFIRE CDs on Friday (August 3rd). They will include both the new rules (v6.01) and any new download material that has been made available since the last CD master. I'll upload the new images as soon as I get them, and I'll post here and on the board when that happens.

Hi there,

Received the Solar Star Fire, latest update Wednesday 19th September.
Looks GREAT, very involved, and very well laid out.

My congratulations to the team who put it together.

Hi shemar,

My order took a while as I'm from "the land down under", or Australia.

Orders are processed each Wednesday.

If concerned, give the admin@starfiredesign.com, give order number
And they will give a update. Of where your order is at.

Hi Rigelian12,

My order does not have a physical component, just the download link.

Thanks

I got it. I was worried my spam filter ate your original response, so I wanted a secontary avenue of communication, that's why I posted here.

Thanks for the quick response. Excellent product, btw, I am loving it.

I'm thinking, more likely it was my spam filter that ate your email. =( Such is the war against spam...

No problem and thank you! We aren't done yet :)
