Look good. Still have to get the ships I said last year I'd buy.
What, no ES size freighter? ;)
Screw the rivets, I build models for atmosphere, not detail

He has to start somewhere on the list... the FT7 is the actual design from the ISF art, the others are derived from that design.

Will have to dig out the game boxes and check for something - pretty sure there is at least one illustration of a landed freighter somewhere in the 1990s published material.
--> Okay, there it is, page 28 of the 1993 Imperial rules. Looks like hull skin panels or similar are being loaded in to cargo bay. Page 7 has view of landing area with a cruiser airborne and various types on ground.
Looks like illustrations are by a JKS.
Someone needs to do a spaceport diorama. Won't be me, though.

What's the recommended material with which to print these? I tend to drift toward the right hand side of the list and was curious if that was necessary for these.

It really depends upon how much detail you want. For the most part, the cheaper plastics sometimes "round over" the finer detail and thinnest edges (like wingtips), but the models are functional and identifiable. But I like detail. Frosted Ultra Detail is by far the best material, you just pay more for it.

The White Strong and Flexible (aka cheap) plastic has a rougher surface. Gives the ship a micro-meteor eroded look. The Acrylic and Ultra Detail plastics have a much smoother surface.

I've been considering painting the ones I have to take pics and put on the site. But if you want to see some comparisons in the materials, go see the pics I put on our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/starfireboardgame

P.S. Oh and southwestforests, JKS is Jack Southerland, the same guy doing art for our Zazzle site. Have you seen that yet?
