Buckaroo's Miniatures

Picked up a KON/TFN set. I liked my paint jobs and then my wife walks by and says, oh look R2-D2 spaceships vs. Ironman spaceships, how cute.

Holy crap, I don't know why your wife's comment made me laugh so hard I almost cried.

But they look really good!

So how did you do your ships. Take the KON ships. What brand paints did you use? Looks like you did Red and Gold and then a black ink wash? The white and black highlights look like you did them after the wash.

Maybe it's just the photos, but the white on the TFN ships doesn't look like you did the wash over them?

Wow that is some fantastic work!

I expect with a statement like that you wife isn't flying the Droid fleet anytime soon.

thanks all

Paints are all GW

The TFN are Ulthuan Grey, with White Scar highlights. I don't wash but line highlight with Nuln Oil, basically painting the wash only in the recesses. Blue is Caledor Sky highlighted with Hoeth Blue

The KON are Miphiston Red highlighted with Evil Sun Scarlet, Brown is Tallarn Sand, highlighted with some white. a pin wash with Devlin mud, again, only in the recesses. No Gold on them.

Unlike mine, your minis are beautiful. I need to stick with 15mm... Spaceships kick my tail....

Is the center long blue vessel a TFN freighter?

The freighters look like this (this is a mid-sized freighter, there are smaller and larger freighter hulls):
