Charles Gannon on Reddit April 20th

Postby Cralis on Sun 17 Apr 2016 08:54

https://www.reddit.com/r/books/

On April 20th, Charles Gannon will be answering questions on Reddit. He says that you can start posting questions at 11 AM, and he'll start at 2 PM.

Anyone have any questions on the Starfire series you're dying to ask? He says he's going to "spill the beans"...

Personally I have two questions:

Is RAW just a plot device to keep ship sizes from continuing to increase, or is there a more sinister set of techs coming based on it? (I'm leaving that vague on purpose)

Can RAW be used on bases, asteroid forts, and space stations? It would seem that it could (since they are even slower than Devastators and Super-Devastators)...

This brings up that I'm trying to find what RAW is acronym for on my own before asking. But now I give up. Poked around here, poked around the main website, and if a dictionary of game acronyms is there I have missed seeing it.
Playing in Google only finds stuff like this "Starfire - Crystal Scattered Raw Edge 88" Veil by Rainbow ...
A beautiful 88" ivory Italian tulle veil that is graciously scattered with crystals and raw edging."
Perhaps some game characters might have a use for that, but this is not the RAW I am looking for.

True. See your messages for background data.
Screw the rivets, I build models for atmosphere, not detail

Ahhh...

The Kaituni (a newly formed group of Aldurans who don't want to be friendly to everyone else, whom they view as nothing more than intelligent animals) created a weapon they called the "Relativistic Acceleration Weapon", or RAW, that exploits focused quantum entanglement to create a stream of particles that are "shot" by teleporting them from the firer to the center of the target. It can only be used on Devastator and larger ships because the others are "too fast" for precise targeting.

Ahh, interesting: sounds like an "Eats it from the inside out" sort of thing.

I proposed something similar 15 years ago using monopoles.
