Events
Started construction of two new auxiliary units, one carrying a SYM module and the other a MS module. The Republic needs to be able to construct units (fortifications mainly) outside the Ohio system.
The Garfield class tug is starting to collect asteroids of 50 HS size from the inner belt and returning them to Columbus orbit for eventual conversion into Asteroid Forts. The Garfield is an FT2 with a size of 16 HS with 3 Ica's in it's tug engine room giving it a towing size of 46 HS. With the 50 HS size asteroid having a towing size of 75 HS this means the Garfield's speed while towing a 50 HS asteroid is reduced by two for an overall speed of 2 or 24 LM / day or 1 LM / hour. Without towing an asteroid Garfield's speed is 4 or 24 LM / day or 2 LM / hour. Columbus is orbiting the sun at 9 LM while the inner asteroid belt has an orbit of 24 LM. This gives a roundtrip travel time of 22.5 hours (7.5 hours out and 15 hours back) between the belt and Columbus. To make things simple say it takes the tug a little more than a day (25.5 hours) to find a suitable asteroid and that gives a total time of 48 hours (2 days) to leave Columbus, reach the belt, find an asteroid and return it to Columbus. This means the Garfield can return 15 asteroids per month to Columbus.
Survivable Body survey of Star B in the Idaho system completed, found 7x VR (H, 2x mB, 4x mF), 2x R (mB, mF), 4x N (mH, 3x mB). WP Survey continues there.
The researchers developing Lb have finally turned over a working prototype and the Navy can finally start to incorporate the new and improved Laser into the fleet.
