I hope so because one of the few systems more involved than 3rd ed for missile combat is SFB.

I especially like the fact that each weapon carries an internal load of 10 combat rounds of ammo. (thus ROF 2 has 20 shots) That really helps some of my smaller ships. My explorers have a broadside mounted sprint missile system, effectively making them expensive swarm ships. (Xa cost a lot more than a point of armor, but it stops damage just as well.)

OK, other than the on mount storage capacity it's similar to 2nd ed rules.

In SOLAR sprint missiles are now Homing Weapons. ;)

Thanks! Hadn't caught that bit of information yet. Even better for my little explorers! :D

Are those Xa's reloadable during battle or are they effectively single shot weapons like the old (XO)'s from 3rd ed?

Xa's are not XO's. They are science instruments and thus just a 1 HS item in my ship. My Ga (sprint missiles) carry 10 rounds of ammo internally, but I wouldn't expect them to last that long anyway.

Speaking of the sprint missiles....I can't find where it says they are homing weapons. Elminster can you point it out to me?

Ah, damn. It's in the upcoming update. Sorry.

That's the problem if you are helping design the rules. Sometimes you don't know, what is already there and what has to come. ;)

I thought that was the case. I'm assuming that you meant XOa in your earlier post. X has always been science instruments.
