RAPID FIRE SALVOES
Thu 18 Feb 2010 11:19

ALL salvoes are fired "as soon as possible" and it is not possible to hold back the fire of weapons with lower ROF to fire with the later salvoes of weapons with higher ROF. Shots cannot be "saved" from low ROF weapons until later salvoes.

The original question was whether an ROF 1 missile launcher can fire the missile with the second salvo of a ROF 2 missile launcher. The answer is no.

DETERMINING NATIONALITY (D7.05)
Fri 19 Feb 2010 20:45

In order to positively determine the nationality (empire) of a race, you have to close to short range [D5.07]. However, once you've positively identified a nationality, you can then detect the nationality of a drive-field at full detection range. [D5.07.1] You can also detect that a drive-field is a previously unidentified nationality if you haven't identified them before.

RACIAL UNITY FREE TECH SYSTEMS AND SL
Thu 18 Mar 2010 14:26

RACIAL UNITY gets all Multiplex systems for free when the EL of the race is equal to the SL of the multiplex system. HOWEVER, they DO NOT get free SLs on the Electronics Tree. They must research those normally.

TRANSIT CARRIER RULES CLARIFICATIONS
Wed 14 Oct 2009 20:22

1. The carried parasites on a transit carrier are supposed to be untargetable, and all damage goes to the transit carrier. Parasites can only be attacked once they drop free or forced free by damage to @ systems.

2. Thus anything that protects the transit carrier, by definition, protects the carried parasites.

3. An addition to L4.10.5 to allow transit carriers to carry freighters through dangerous systems, but there must be a transit carrier for every freighter (or enough carry space for every freighter) that is in the pool that does not follow a new rule,

4. We discovered that L4.10.5 does not specifically state that the dangerous system pool must have freighters that mount systems that reasonably protect it from damage in the dangerous systems. We will close this loophole by making that specification, along with a notice that some dangers cannot be negated and a dangerous system pool cannot exist for those systems.

Expect the actual rules modifications/additions in the next version of ULTRA.

AST GUNS
Thu 22 Apr 2010 16:22

AST Guns were not intended to be capable of damaging starships.

The next version of ULTRA will add this note, and make it clear that this is a component and the ast automatically mounts this component.

SMALL CRAFT PRECISION WEAPONS
Fri 30 Apr 2010 13:24

It seems that GSF had small craft precision weapons, and he intended to re-balance them for ULTRA. He didn't get it complete, and as of right now there are NO RULES FOR USING PRECISION WEAPONS ON SMALL CRAFT in ULTRA.

EDIT Mar 24: Ironically, I updated this elsewhere, but not on this post. Marvin took a look at the smcft precision weapons as they are currently implemented in ULTRA and has decided that they are close enough to keep. We intend to do further testing and we may change some of the SRW combat modifiers at a later date.

I would link you the post, but it is inside the SDS section. =\

CLASS B TRANSIT EFFECTS CONFUSION
Fri 30 Apr 2010 13:07

The point defense modifier is supposed to be -1, not -3. D7.01.2 is wrong.
