(Blame insomnia)
So, in letting my cats out this morning, I noticed that they almost seemed to be moving in formation, which made me think of the escorting rules, which made me think of my cats being datalinked, and suddenly I was designing my cats as ships. These designs aren't really supposed to be very battle-worthy, nor are they particularly 'cat-like' (there is no tech tree for 'likes his belly rubbed', etc.), but at least each vessel reflects its namesake's size, accurately; Abner is the CA, because he weighs 21 pounds, while Virgil, the DD, weighs in at almost 10. The cat-ships, thusly:
Abner-Class CA (60 HS) 1060 MC
(3) S1x3A1x6HZaQbKe+(IaIa)YaQbKe+Ke>(IaIa)Ke+QbDa(IaIa)?aFca
(IaIa)Fca (4)
S1x3 A1x6 Ke+x3 Ke>x1 Fcax2 (Dax1 ?ax1) (XOb):9[3xKe] Target:-1 Htk:30
Virgil-Class DD (30 HS) 519 MC
(3) S1x3Ax2HZaQa(Ia)Ya(Ia)Qa(Ia)DaKe+?a(Ia)(Ia)Fca (5)
S1x3 Ax2 Ke+x1 Fcax1 (Dax1 ?ax1) (XOb):3[1xKe] Target:-1 Htk:18
(the above designs courtesy of a spreadsheet ship calculator I cobbled together in Word. 97)
