STARFIRE is an original game of starship combat and interstellar empire building. Originally written by Steve Cole in 1976, the game system was expanded in the 1980's and 1990's and based on the books by David Weber. In 2000 GALACTIC STARFIRE was released, which has evolved into the current ULTRA STARFIRE edition.
STARFIRE's unique combat system allows players to build their own fleets of starships and annihilate those fleets in only a few hours play time. Fans of 4X (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate) games will enjoy that STARFIRE has a campaign system that allows you to build an alien empire, control every facet of its development, and attempt to conquer a galaxy full of players and/or non-players alike.

Today is the release of Solar Starfire... there are some house-keeping chores on the website that need to be completed first, and then Solar Starfire will appear on the ordering page. You can see any questions and/or micro news on this topic in the new Solar Starfire Forum.
After some issues with the server, we've put out SOLAR STARFIRE and starting putting up materials! Until we can fix the graphics, the descriptive page is being built as the Solar Starfire Main Page. There you can find the FAQ on changes, and we'll be posting more information as we progress.
It is also available as a digital document for download on the Ordering Page.
Elminster has already released the Elminster's Sysgen 2.0 for Solar Starfire for download. The very first download! Soon to follow will be Quick Rules and Introductory Scenarios, I'll post after I get those added.
We had intended to have CDs available immediately on release for Solar Starfire, but we are moving to a Print-on-Demand supplier and we ran into a minor setback. The current CDs are available for the moment, but as soon as we can fix the problem we'll be upgrading to the new Ultimate CD with Solar Starfire and adding the Solar Starfire CD.
We'll let you know as soon as they become available.
The SDS has finally implemented the ability to download orders of digital products immediately after a valid paypal receipt! For most people, this means that as soon as you pay and are returned to the e-commerce site you will have a link to complete your order and download your product. Instructions on the downloads will be posted on the ordering page and on the downloads page.
Physical products will still go through Marvin, but we are working on a process that will enable us to do Print-On-Demand for CD/DVD products. More to be released when that is working.
