More Information - Order it now!     ULTRA is the beginning of a new era for Starfire Rules. No longer will players be forced to purchase printed products that can rapidly become out of date. Instead, ULTRA Starfire will allow changes to be directly incorporated into the ruleset which will negate the need for Errata (changes will be marked though). In addition, the ability to not clutter the rules by adding thousands of crosslinked examples and historical information in a separate location will be invaluable to players.     ULTRA also contains thousands of crosslinks between sections of the rules that are important to each other and the flexibility to add more exists. For example, in the GSF rulebook, page 20, rule D6.03 says "A space station has a non-military central ... military modules. See [H1.01.2] for the construction of SS." In ULTRA, you can click on the [H1.01.2] reference and be taken directly to the that rule.     Most of the rules of ULTRA are currently those of GSF+Elite and all errata of both have been added to ULTRA. Some unclear sections were cleaned up and one of the goals is to have you, the users of Ultra, continue to help this one-man part-time operation to clean up more of the rules by pointing out problems. Throughout 2004, Ultra will be considered in a Beta stage which is why the first set of updates included with purchase go through Dec 2005.     At this point, you may be asking how do I keep up to date for years to come. Will I continually have to pay to buy new versions of Ultra. The answer is yes and no. Ultra will use a subscription model to keep players up to date on the rules. As I have limited time to work on the rules, there will be a yearly fee, paid in January (first fee occuring in 2006), of between $5-$10 for the next years worth of monthly updates. (There will be no discount for purchase later in the year). This allows me to have a single time that all subscriptions are terminated.     The crosslinked PDFs of ULTRA contain more than 300+ pages of material including a Table of Contents and an Index.     The updates to Ultra will not be limited to just Errata. Instead you will see new rules, optional rules, technologies, examples, better crosslinking, and such. The only thing you'll not likely see are articles and stories.     To maintain your subscription, it is the requirement that you, the purchaser, keep the Starfire Design Studio up to date with a current mailing address. Each month, that E-mail address will sent a one-time code that links to a server with the Ultra files. Ultra files will not be written on to CDs except in special cases and with a significant surcharge. (note: the following domains do not support the Ultra file size "@cox.net", "@gci.net", "@netzero.com", "@netscape.net". Get a yahoo account, which is free).     CAMPAIGN SUPPORT: Starfire Design Studio has worked out a deal with CorbyNova and Digital Gamers to make the CorbyNova Website the official Strategic Game support. In the future, CorbyNova will be able to export battle information directly into the coming Digital Gamers Tactical Battle module.     Ultra Starfire is a 100% standalone product. You do not need GSF nor Elite to use it.    Back
