Re: Inherent "Q" as part of the hull

My super earner FT[1] is Hx8 Hb (Ica ica), cost is 52, main is 3.9 and generates 8 MCr income normally.

Re: DD1.03 Mardukan Rebellion Questions

1) To make things a bit more interesting, and to give players an option for investment because colonization is basically off the table, IU are now a Sovereign Wealth Fund. This means that IU income is not included in GPV or and other calculations. TGI is now simply the Empires total PU count, a new...

Re: Inherent "Q" as part of the hull

Playing around with this rule in my design spreadsheets reveals that it has some pretty interesting affects, and probably the most profound is on FT leasing/income. No longer is the design with the best ROR a FT[4] with mixed holds (5Qv, 15H), rather it is a humble FT[1] with only H! This design is ...

Some more thoughts on this: 1) To make things a bit more interesting, and to give players an option for investment because colonization is basically off the table, IU are now a Sovereign Wealth Fund. Re: Some More Starting Questions

Thanks for your responses!

I hadn't considered building both types, given that 1 can possibly 14 of them, splitting it done the middle might work.

It does leave the question of what do do with my Battle Fund but, as I've managed to amass a rather nasty fleet from the survey fund.

Some More Starting Questions

At this rate my first (test) game is going to be the most well thought out ever played, if I ever get around to actually playing it. Starting off with a question that's actually starter based, which is a better choice to add to my starting fleet, all designs are Ica equipped for move 3: 1) A DD(R) w...

Re: The Code Omega Always Gets Out

Again, that's only a problem if you are chasing them. You can move at full military speed. Or you can plan better and cut them off. It's all up to you. You aren't bringing up any issue that anyone else hasn't already had to deal with. I'm thinking more once the call goes out that raiders are in sys...

Re: The Code Omega Always Gets Out

That’s only part of the story. First, endurance is only an issue if you are chasing the FT, and second, it’s only an issue if you aren’t moving at full speed. And later there are techs to make your warships go even faster. Or be tricky and bring Q ships... there are lots of options. I'm thinking mo...

Re: IUs?

I don't like the private sector idea. Some empire types may not have a private sector to sell to, and even sold infrastructure should generate tax income. Similarly, in war (or for whatever else reason occurs) an empire might decide to nationalize all IU in existence then as consequence. Also, sold...

Re: The Code Omega Always Gets Out

SCC, there will still be FT in-system. Even given an Omega signal, it will take those ships time to leave the system. Days... perhaps a week or two depending. You just need to plan your approach to try and capture or destroy as many as you can. Yeah, and generally speaking FT have more StMP then wa...
