Re: The Code Omega Always Gets Out

@Cralis my point is more that word of the raiders will get out on the first ships they take and shipping through that system will dry up basically over night. And given that the rules (As they stand) say that all ships auto-launch their OD and OB on destruction you have to specifically write that th...

The Code Omega Always Gets Out

It should be known that I'm not really a fan of the rules regarding raiding, not only the they require a lot of extra work for a rare edge case but they also represent a case where someone is clearly asleep at the helm (so to speak) as the sudden loss of a several million dollar asset isn't cause fo...

Re: Expansion Of Section Y18

Edit: I don’t have the rules here at work, but I will check that paragraph when I get home. This is the paragraph: " NPR’s have a 25% chance to mix capital or heavy and normal LRW on the same ships, otherwise they will mount only capital, heavy, or normal LRW’s on any given hull. " The pr...

Expansion Of Section Y18

I was wondering if there are any plans to expand the tables in Y18, chiefly a tables for carrier strategy and escort strategy. Do they build dedicated warp point assault designs is also a question that could be asked. And Y18.06.6 could do with some work, the second paragraph after the table contrad...

Re: Engines, Refitting, And Class Fees

Why would some HS need to be refitted twice? You said it could be gamed with two refits; one to add an additional drive and one to change from Ia to Ib. That’s two refits. Unless there's a rule I'm missing if I only refit one engine only the HS that engine occupies get dinged with refit costs. The ...

Re: DD1.03 Mardukan Rebellion Questions

Cralis wrote:Why not use Racial Outlook for the roll? It will even the results out. Otherwise I’d probably just use RD.

I was originally going to use RD, but felt that RM should probably also apply, I did consider RO, but felt that RC didn't really apply.

Re: Engines, Refitting, And Class Fees

I don't see how doing two Major Refits is advantageous over just doing one Major Refit... you will do a major refit to change non-drive HS to drive HS in the original drive type, and then do another when you change the drives to another drive type. It would be cheaper and easier to just do both at ...

Re: DD1.03 Mardukan Rebellion Questions

Ah... that's what I get for responding from work without reading. I was remembering part of the setup for DD1.02 and confusing the Imperium setup for DD1.02 and not the Mardukan Setup for DD1.03 ... my apologies. You're understanding here is correct and I'm wrong. I just went back and re-read the s...

Re: DD1.03 Mardukan Rebellion Questions

It's in the rules. The upper parts of that table are reached by using modifiers gained by capturing populations. Ah, I'm used to the modifiers being at the bottom of the table. First, GG5.06.10.1 says 2000 PU for all but B worlds, which have a 900+200 PU starting amount. And that's actually VERY im...

Re: Engines, Refitting, And Class Fees

Doing a “simple” generational swap (like changing Ia to Ib) is vastly simplified. In reality, such an upgrade is likely to be an incremental upgrade of a few of the sub-systems, not a complete swap of the entire drive system. But “adding an extra engine”? As per the rules right now, that will be a ...
