If you read my new solo campaign, you will note that the First Kobold Empire was basically built in a swamp.

It sank into the swamp. :(

Then the even more glorious First and a half Kobold Empire built up on the ruins.

It fell over and sank into the swamp :o

Now we have the beginning of the Second Kobold Empire! 8-)

Lets hope they last a little longer then the others did.

I decided to give the race attributes (K3 rules) a try, here is what I came up with:
I took "no leaders" which gives me an additional 30 points to spend (total of 40)
Advance Science (-3 on smcrft) cost 18 (22 pts left)
+2 initiative cost 9 (13 pts left)
crack crews cost 10 (3 pts left)
+20 ground combat cost 3

If I have the right read on the rules, and please correct me if I don't, this puts me one SL and a couple of special projects away from gunboats. The Second Kobold Empire also plans to us Pt again, so adv. sci. puts me at SL 2 Pt which means I can start working on the break through for Pg on the first turn. Hopefully by the time I make EL 3 I will have Pg armed gunboats and rarely lose the initiative in combat.

Thanks Xveers! But you must remember common sense and logic do NOT apply with kobolds! :)

The starting fleet consists of:
2 CL's and 4 DD's in mothballs (you know how hard it is to pick those?)
8 CT's for patrolling the home system.
The CFN consists of:
50 FT2 STD (14xH)QI 2/2 cost 79
24 FT2Q (14xQv)QI 2/2 cost 127

They'll get their pilings from ACME. The pilings will promptly fail and the 2nd Kobold Empire will sink into the swamp as well. At least they're not setting up shop on the edge of a cliff.

Now as to the campaign, there are three rumors floating around, two about other races and one about an artifact.
The first race is "The Fudd" a hive race and they are hunting wabbits!
The second race is the Squidwards, their character is a complete mystery. (multi tenticled horror?)
Lastly, there is an artifact called the Loc-nar somewhere in the 1000 systems. It is the sum of all evil! (of course Kobolds must have this)
