L4.04 - CFN Freighter Design

after the first paragraph it says: 'All CFN FTs must have a strategic speed of 4 or more.'

So SCC is right, get those FT2 up to speed 4/4. You must have some speed 4 designs or you will not have a CFN.

If you personnal buy some Slower speed freighters for your government pool, note that they will make only half the MCr of a speed 4/4 freighter when leased to the CFN. This is per L4.03 - Changing Pool Capacity.
"If a freighter does not have a safe cruising speed of four, multiply the capacity of that freighter by the freighter’s speed divided by 4." (2 divided by 4 = 1/2)

Lets hope they last a little longer then the others did.

I decided to give the race attributes (K3 rules) a try, here is what I came up with:
I took "no leaders" which gives me an additional 30 points to spend (total of 40)
Advance Science (-3 on smcrft) cost 18 (22 pts left)
+2 initiative cost 9 (13 pts left)
crack crews cost 10 (3 pts left)
+20 ground combat cost 3

If I have the right read on the rules, and please correct me if I don't, this puts me one SL and a couple of special projects away from gunboats. The Second Kobold Empire also plans to us Pt again, so adv. sci. puts me at SL 2 Pt which means I can start working on the break through for Pg on the first turn. Hopefully by the time I make EL 3 I will have Pg armed gunboats and rarely lose the initiative in combat.

You don't list Advanced Science for Pt. Apart from that it looks... militant. :)

Elminster, I was going by K3.03.1.1. If I have this right, all SL are at the same level as EL. In my case starting at 2.

Snarl in the rules, the SL of all tech tree's is EL-1 unless you buy the advanced science at which point the tree is at SL=EL before accounting for modifications

This paragraph is a sub-paragraph of Advanced Science and will only affect this ability.

The standard rule is K2.04.1.

At turn five our signals intel guys picked some info on the main oponents.
First, The Fudd appear to be confused as to whether it is duck season or wabbit season.
Second, the Squidwards have a new warship design called the "Patrick class starship".
