We have set up a Discord server for Starfire! You can reach it here: https://discord.gg/yqdAhxY

Its currently set up with a general chat (text) and help channel, as well a couple of Battle Comms channels for games, with a Staging Area for folks to use either to organize what Battle Comm channel to use, or just for general voice chat.

We have kept it simple for now, but if more channels are needed just let us know and we can add them.

Discord is a chat server/service that can support voice chat and many other things (like bots, cut and paste, etc. )

We have a Starfire Discord server now so anyone can jump on and chat. One of the cooler features is that it preserves chat history and lets you know what you missed, so if Elminster (in Germany) gets on while I’m sleeping and asks a question, I can read his post and answer while he’s sleeping!

What Cralis said. Think a better version of Teamspeak/Ventrilo, as it has both PC client, webapp and phone app that all connect to the same servers.

It has specific support for Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome, Android (including Android for PC), and iOS. That's all the big ones in the current technosphere; any that can run a javascript-enabled web browser that can cope with the i/o can run the web-version.

It's got decent text-chat, and, if your ISP is decent, really good voice quality.
My ISP isn't really that good.

Nice. We're using Discord for our D&D group at the Equality Center in Tulsa and for the gaming con we're putting on in October in Broken Arrow, OK.

Just joined, FYI.

I see that you jumped on Coldsteel.. I’m trying to figure out how to elevate you on the mobile app.

That’s cool. I’m thinking about trying to use it and maybe Vassal to do games once a month or something. We put in some voice channels for that.
