What effect(s) should a planetary atmosphere have in game?

NONE! Who cares if there is air to breath or not. No difference from planets without!

Voidstalker, curious why you switched to miles instead of sticking with the kilometers that Starfire uses? :D At least with 'standard' tactical hexes (75000 km per tH) using km makes the maths so much easier than with miles.
