Lander model & early Starfire style

This apparently Soviet/Russian lander model brings to mind early Starfire style.
Beyond that it is obviously a lander which releases a rover I have no idea what the thing is, and it also brings to mind photos I’ve seen of props and costumes from Japanese science-fiction TV shows.

That IS a little eery :)

I love the "nuclear" symbol on the engine pods. CCCP loved all things nuclear...
