Classic SF map for scenarios

Hi folks,

been a while, since I came here.

Wanna wade through the Crusade scenarios, but found out that some of them are to be setup with ships on individual hexes.

So has anyone knowledge of what tactical numbered maps were used in SF3?

I found this topic here with a link to a SF2 map, but don't know if the SF3 maps are the same:

I believe the Crusade scenatios (and pretty much all of third-edition) uses the 4-part map. Right now we are out of those and haven't found anyone who can make them at a price we can afford, but we are still searching.

And welcome! Where at in Europe? We have a number of players in the UK, Germany, and France.

Hi Cralis,

it would be sufficient, when you would offer the maps as PDF.

I believe on the old download site there also was the system map with the twelve radiants, but without numbering.

That's actually a big part of the reason we have been having trouble getting new maps -- we don't have an electronic version of the physical four parts of the map.

Yes! That does exist... I will put it in the download subforum.

I could have sworn we had this electronically, someone had sent it to me. But now I can't find it... I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten, I'm still looking for it.

Cralis,

as I understand only the tactical map is numbered.

So if you could validate that the numbering scheme is the same as with this SF2 compatible map:
http://starfleetgames.com/sfb/sfin/Hex_ ... mbered.pdf

one would only need the size of the SF3 map and add the missing coordinates manually ;-)

3E shipped with standard task force maps for tactical level ISF shipped with the system and 4-part interception maps.

The standard TFG is 42 col x30 row, even cols lower than odd, corners 0101, 0130, 4201 4230

Thank you guys!

The SFB map though seems to fit nicely for the tactical part afterall...

Anything special with the interception maps? Never seen one, hence no idea of it...

The Interception map was a 24 hex-wide map that represented an entire System Hex in 1 hour intervals (at speed 1). The idea was to allow for maneuver and reinforcement just outside of the tactical level. But since an interception turn was 240 tactical turns, 99.9999% of the time it just didn't make any difference. So with 4th edition and later we got rid of it.
